TRUE CORE is...
- creating a safe space to engage with your body in an empowered way
- seeking to inhabit or reinhabit the body or areas of the body
- discovering or rediscovering how the body relates to itself and learns through itself
Self-discovery is how we learn to use our bodies as children. TRUE CORE utilizes mindful self-discovery as a way to explore areas of our body that feel lost or are injured, in an attempt to create authentic kinetic pathways and chains.
The body wants to find a way to work optimally for wherever it is in THAT moment, with all its physical abilities and limitations and environmental conditions, requirements and restrictions – based on the knowledge it has acquired through past experiences – but open to new pathways and solutions IF provided with the space, safety and time for exploration.
TRUE CORE aids this process. This work is slow and small, in order to work safely through our explorations and to make deep, integrated connections.
Why...
- to feel more at home in your body
- to become involved in the process of your own healing
- to deepen your awareness and your connection to your body
- to feel less lost in your body
- to build a foundation for your next phase of exercise and healing by developing or re-establishing a connection to your TRUE CORE
- to complement the health care you are currently receiving
- to recover and heal from an injury
How...
By using your individual learning process, with verbal cues and imagery, you will be guided through body awareness exercises that help you to feel, visualize, and explore how your body connects and integrates with itself. Often in a private session, there may be hands-on work incorporating multiple modalities that are supportive of the process, often with light touch, and may be used to help give you reference information.
Though elements of other modalities may be incorporated into the work/session, a TRUE CORE session’s work will not be solely of that modality. The practitioner cannot “fix” or “adjust” your body. All touch is to assist the body in finding, feeling, understanding, and referencing parts of the body that may not feel connected to the individual, or to other parts of the body.
Goals...
- to encourage you to listen to your body and your intuition
- to empower you to be more responsible for your healing process, because that is the path to deep healing and knowledge
- to help you observe and witness what is happening in your body
- to become more attuned to your body's energy
- to begin a healing process that enables the body to self-correct through gentle exploration
- to give you tools to enable you to work on your own
- to familiarize yourself with your body and how you heal
